It gave me Burlington. #1 listened artist last year: The Beastie Boys. I sometimes think its less artificial intelligence and more a random number picker.

My top genre was “indie québécois” and it placed me in Québec, so it’s at least smart enough to figure that out.

This headline broke my brain. I know what Spotify is but not “Spotify Wrapped” so I kept reading it like my Spotify had wrapped something but “Place” next to it just would not compute.

    Bozeman, Montana.

Fine with me, that’s where Zefram Cochrane launched the first human-built warp vessel.

Me too, and I missed that reference, shame on me. However Spotify said it was because I like both rock and blues

Now it’s head-canon that Spotify called me a Trekkie! It even fits with all the rest of you who are apparently learning you’re gay

I got Burlington! I’m not gay as far as I’m aware but whenever someone asks me what kind of music I like in the future, the answer will be “gay music”.

You guess? Statistically, you are so Mormon, Spotify knows what kind of underwear you have on.

My wife and I share an account. We got Cambridge. Good thing she came out as bi or else we would be having a strange conversation soon

Technically bi (though my tastes lean gay), I was put in Glasgow for listening to a lot of Steps and CHVRCHES… Given that Glasgow was on the running to host the Gay Olympics this year I guess it could be a close equivalent?

Seeing “Gay Olympics” made me go “wut?”, so of course I clicked the link, and it immediately made sense.

I’m gay and I was somewhere in Germany. Mainly due to the black metal and one American band that is insanely popular in Germany for some reason.

So much so that they recorded their live 20 year anniversary somewhere there

All of my friends who listen to sad lesbian music got Burlington or Berkley.

Yeah, I guess I could have said their name lol. Boysetsfire. I think they’re from Delaware originally. They were political melodic hardcoreish at the beginning so I still jam their first few records hard. But they have a huge following in Germany.

No, I don’t feel foolish for having basically humanity’s entire music library available to me on a service.

When I used to pirate off SoulSeek I was a lot more limited in what I listened to, but Spotify is more than just a music service as it acts as a reliable way to discover new and old music to your liking.

Piracy is a service problem, and Spotify is a good service.

It never gave me a city. It worked for my partner. I’m kinda pissed I wasted my time on this.
