From the river to the sea, Palestine will be free

It’s weird how they always leave off the second part.

Because recognizing the slogan as a Zionist invention, which advocates for colonizing Palestine from the river to the sea, would destroy their own narrative.

recognizing the slogan as a Zionist invention

Clipping off the bit about freedom is a Zionist framing, certainly. But when every expression of Palestinian solidarity is criminalized, there’s little to be gained in a debate about “framing”. At this point, “Death to Israel” is a perfectly valid and legitimate sentiment. The state is rotten to the core, from its corrupt fascist parliament to its bloody-fisted imperial expansion.

Pretending that “Israel has a right to exist” is any different than some Boer slogan championing White South Africa or a Neo-Confederate rallying cry for the restoration of America’s slave-owning past is what really plays into the Zionist’s hands.

I guess it explains it further but the kneejerk reaction to that would be to think in this scenario there’s no Israel. So what happened to all the Jews

Live side by side with their Palestinian brothers and sisters peacefully and for the betterment of all mankind?

According to the most recent joint survey of the Palestinian–Israeli Pulse in 2023, support for a democratic one-state solution stands at 23% among Palestinians and 20% among Israeli Jews. A non-equal non-democratic one-state solution remains more popular among both populations, supported by 30% of Palestinians and 37% of Israeli Jews. A Palestinian poll in September 2024 revealed that only 10% of respondents supported a single state that would provide equal rights for both Israelis and Palestinians.

It doesn’t seem like either side wants an equal (and/or democratic) single state solution hah

Curious how this poll was taken, given one of the groups is currently being slaughtered by the other.

I don’t really know, the source is a The Economist article behind a paywall. The poll mentioned earlier in the quote is from face-to-face interviews of Palestinians and online interviews of Israelis.
