Not to be that person, but you aren’t restricted to those solutions for software, that’s what rpm-ostree is there for. It layers applications over your system image and installs software in a similar manner to a “normal” package manager.

Fedora CoreOS is meant to be just for containers if you want to go this route.

My partner’s computer was running bazzite on a 2080 super and it gave her nothing but problems, especially with Wayland. Switching to AMD immediately fixed the Wayland issues, and also completely stabilized her system. It could be that it was a problematic GPU, I suppose. I admit that I haven’t personally used an Nvidia GPU since ~2020, however I did see the issues she had for sure.

Whatever you do, do not get an Nvidia GPU. I’ve only ever had problems with Nvidia drivers on Linux. Meanwhile, the AMD drivers (both the ones baked into the kernel and proprietary) work nearly flawlessly.

Intel’s most recent generation of CPUs were also frying themselves and Intel (at least last I checked) were not accepting RMAs from affected customers. Something to consider for your CPU at least.

Possibly, it would probably depend on the extractor and business - I would hope that most businesses would catch that the fields weren’t filled out during extraction if extraction is something they normally do. I would expect it’s something that happens with pdf extraction and they’d have a human go in and check it in those cases. It does not take 40 minutes in modern EVs. It takes like 20 minutes, max. It certainly does not take hours at L3 chargers like the misleading claim the person in your quote makes. I think that’s also what you’re missing: this is a marginal improvement overall, other than range itself. Once again, the problem is not battery tech, it’s charging access. L3 charging access needs to be improved, not battery tech. If we upgrade our battery tech now, it will only make the problems you are mentioning worse by reducing the amount of available chargers. This will not work with our current L3/L2 tech, and you want to make the L3 charging situation you’re talking about even worse. We simply do not have our infrastructure in a good enough place where we can accommodate this technology.
